We have recently been contacted by Soyal Rai, a young screen-reader user in Nepal who operates a YouTube channel to advise other, visually impaired Nepalis on assistive technology.
We want to show you his video about LouderPages’ “Dina” voice. Here is what his video description says about Dina:
Looking for a faster, clearer, and more responsive Nepali voice for your Android device? In this video, we showcase a high-quality female Nepali Text-to-Speech (TTS) service that offers a significant upgrade over standard speech services by Google. This TTS is designed for all Nepali users, especially for the visually impaired community using screen readers. Its crystal-clear and understandable voice quality makes it perfect for daily use in GPS applications, location services, reading apps, and various other Android tools. Experience better responsiveness and natural-sounding audio that fits your personal preferences.
For those of you who do not know how blind users use the Android Talkback screen-reader you might find the following video educational. Soyal speaks in Nepali but uses an English interface on his phone. You can see and hear him as he navigates the screens on his phone.

Soyal wants us to add features to our Nepali language processing, and to add more voices. We are limited in resources here at LouderPages but we are in discussion with Soyal about perhaps recruiting local, Nepali help. Stay tuned!
